About Us

Traad, Ballyronan and Ballinderry Development Association (TABBDA Company Ltd, a Company Limited by Guarantee and a registered charity, is an organization which has been established over 20 years and has been at the heart of the rural community in the North West of Lough Neagh in its commitment to address local issues such as financial and emotional poverty, social isolation and to heighten awareness of the poor infrastructure and lack of health and well-being services in the local area. In our Memorandum and Articles of Association we our objectives are to:

  1. Support our socially isolated community
  2. Strengthen our community by improving skill base of volunteers
  3. Make required services more accessible to our community
  4. Strengthen connections between all sections of our community

During this period the group has gained experience in areas of identifying and meeting the needs of our community based at our thriving cross community centre. To date TABBDA has delivered programmes and projects such as therapeutic classes, community pharmacy services, Youth and Senior Citizen Programmes, Drama and Photography Classes and Outreach Citizen Advice Services. There are also weekly citizen dinners and dances, a Pre-School Play Group, Youth Club, Irish Dancing Classes, Drama Production, Health and Well-Being Classes, Aerobics, Triathlons, and many other activities. TABBDA also place a special emphasis on the elderly providing transport to their facilities to counteract the poor infrastructure for this demographic. We have also delivered in the past cultural Heritage projects such as Irish Crochet classes, community gardening, bird and bat life in the area etc.

25 years of The Marina Centre Saturday was a momentous day in the history of TABBDA. We are immensely proud of the fact that for 25 years our centre has served the community through hosting large events, classes, workshops, meetings, providing business premises and of course housing the local playgroup. We could not let this occasion pass without paying tribute to those who had the foresight to bring the Marina Centre into being, to remember those members who are sadly no longer with us, and to celebrate those who's continuous efforts have made the Centre what it today – a wonderful facility for all. On Saturday evening we gathered together to celebrate these collective efforts, share memories and look to the future. A fantastic time was had by all. On such occasions, we generally shy away from singling out individuals for praise, this could not be the case this time as May Devlin & Ann McVey have dedicated so much of their time day & daily to the Marina Centre. This was acknowledged on the night. We thank all those who joined us for this celebration, especially the members of the Loup CCE who provided the beautiful music, and all who worked tirelessly to ensure it was a success.Photo Credits to Adrian Robinson Photography Please note: – the wider community are welcome to call in the Marina Centre and view our display of memories from the past. This will be available until Sunday 21st September. See MoreSee Less
